1904: "All the local cards are coloured now." A classic view of the Claddagh.

1908: Two girls standing on the quayside.

c1905: This old colourised card was printed in Saxony, Germany for a Dublin-based retailer.
Before 1914, Saxony was one of the largest producers of picture postcards in the world.

c1910: The Oldest Claddagh Fisherman! I wonder who he was?

c1910: Early 20th Century shopping mall - Claddagh style!
This looks to be near the top of Fairhill as you can see the bay in the distance.

c1910:  Some of these barefoot children would have grown up to serve in the British Navy during WW1.

1901: A very early card, before correspondence was allowed on the address side of the card.

c1908: Taken from Long Walk. (The Dominican Church is on the extreme right.)

c1905: Turf Market near Raven Terrace.
There's a good article on the Turf Market on Tom Kenny's Old Galway pages.

1905: View from the end of Long Walk showing the Claddagh Church and Piscatorial (Fishery) School on the right.

c1910: Hookers coming into the quays, passing the end of Nimmo's Pier.

c1920: A rather empty looking Claddagh scene.

c1940: The arched warehouses are now  occupied by Jury's Hotel, and the tower of McDonagh's fertiliser works went in the early 1980s.
Other than that, this scene is very similar tody.

1908: Nice image of the Garra Glas area of the Claddagh.

c1910: A very similar viewpoint, and a well-composed photograph.

1936: One of the last images of the Claddagh before the thatched houses were demolished in 1937.
